• Have enough backup power for operating and recovery rooms.
• Be fully equipped for its surgeries.
• Have surgeons who are board-certified and have hospital privileges.
• Have an anesthesiologist give more profound levels of anesthesia.
• Keep the surgery area clean and safe.
• Track and review case data.
• Pass a thorough initial inspection and meet all standards.
• Be checked every year with a self-survey and every three years by an inspector.
• Display their accreditation certificate where it can be seen.

To get AAAASF accreditation, you need to send in a lot of documents. After filling out everything, you mail the packet to AAAASF for review. Once they check and approve the paperwork, they will schedule a visit from a surveyor. Then, the application goes to a committee for final approval. After the committee approves it, you’ll be notified that you have accreditation. Most applications are finished within 3 to 5 months.
